1. Overview & Commitment to Privacy
OBD Sim Pro is an on-device virtual automotive ELM327 Bluetooth and BLE Electronic Control Unit (ECU) simulator developed by DailyCommit.
Zero Data Collection Policy: We do not collect, store on remote servers, sell, share, or transmit any personal data, telemetry, identity information, or device analytics to any third party or remote server. All simulation processes happen 100% locally on your device.
2. Device Permissions and How They Are Used
To function as a wireless OBD-II & ELM327 Bluetooth peripheral, the app requests the following Android runtime permissions:

BLUETOOTH_ADVERTISE & BLUETOOTH_CONNECT & BLUETOOTH_SCAN (Android 12+ / API 31+):
Required exclusively to broadcast virtual ELM327 Bluetooth Classic SPP (Serial Port Profile) and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE GATT) services so scanner apps (such as Torque Pro, Car Scanner, or custom serial terminals) can connect to the simulator. -
BLUETOOTH & BLUETOOTH_ADMIN (Android 11 and earlier):
Required for discovering, pairing, and managing Bluetooth connections with diagnostic client applications. -
ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION (Legacy BLE Support on Android 11 and below):
On older Android releases, the Android OS mandates location permission to perform BLE peripheral beacon operations. OBD Sim Pro never accesses, tracks, or records your physical GPS location.
3. Local Storage and Data Persistence
The application offers simulated trip recording and vehicle profile customization.
- Trip Logs & Tuning Profiles: Saved exclusively in the application's private, encrypted local SQLite / Room database directly on your device storage.
- Data Deletion: You have full control. You can delete individual trip sessions or clear all stored simulator logs at any time from within the app interface. Uninstalling the app permanently purges all local data.
4. Third-Party Services & SDKs
OBD Sim Pro does not integrate third-party tracking SDKs, advertising networks (such as AdMob), social logins, or behavioral analytics providers (such as Firebase Analytics or Mixpanel).
5. Children’s Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
Our application does not address anyone under the age of 13, nor do we knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from children.
